Ithaca Creek State School students are divided into three houses for inter-house competitions. Children from the same family belong to the same house. The houses are -

THURSDAY SPORT
In 2007 Years 5 – 7 participate in Interhouse sports on Thursday mornings at 9am. Students rotate around the activities with 3 weeks in each activity.
During the Summer months ( Terms 1 & 4 ) Flipperball, Basketball, Newcombe, Touch Football, Diamond Cricket and Scatterball are offered. During the winter months ( Terms 2 & 3 ) the following sports are offered.
LAWN BOWLS
Each group will have the opportunity to develop skills while being coached by experienced bowlers. We will walk to and from the venue which is Ithaca Creek Lawn Bowls Club.

DANCE LESSONS
LESSONS will be based on square dancing. The children will be learning the basic movements and then practising them to music They will learn about 4 to 6 dances durring their Friday sessions.

GO GO GOLF

To support this new and exciting sporting activity the school has purchased the 'Go Go Golf Kit' which is specially designed for students. This kit will enable every student participating to have their own iron and use specially designed golf balls for safety. Week one will cover basic golf skills and safety, week two students will practise their golf swings and week three a mini golf course will be set up a for a competition.
We are looking at offering a competition against other schools at a local golf course later in the year, so watch out all Tigers and Sharks we may have the next Australian golf champion coming from Ithaca Creek.

HOCKEY This activity will take place on the basketball court. All students will be learning a range of hockey skills, and playing mini games that use the skills learned. Students need: water bottle and hat.

AFL
We will be learning the skills of AFL – hand-balling, kicking, marking and bouncing and then combining these into modified games during the first 2 weeks and a “proper” game in the third week. There will be house competitions later in the year.
